You must compile all VAT-inclusive purchases made during the quarter and organize them by supplier. The process follows these steps:

Summary List of VAT Purchases

Summary List of VAT Purchases is a quarterly compliance report required by the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) that documents all creditable input VAT from business expenses incurred by VAT-registered taxpayers in the Philippines.

Key Components

  • BIR Registered Name of the Supplier – The official registered name of the seller or vendor
  • TIN of the Seller – The Tax Identification Number of each supplier
  • Nature of Purchase – Description of goods or services acquired
  • Amount of Purchase – Total purchase value in Philippine Pesos (PHP)
  • Creditable Input VAT – The VAT amount eligible for credit against output VAT
  • Non-Creditable Input VAT – VAT amounts that cannot be claimed as tax credits

How it Works

You must compile all VAT-inclusive purchases made during the quarter and organize them by supplier. The process follows these steps:

  1. Gather source documents – Collect all official receipts and invoices from VAT-registered suppliers
  2. Verify supplier details – Confirm the TIN and registered name of each vendor
  3. Categorize purchases – Separate creditable from non-creditable input VAT transactions
  4. Calculate totals – Sum up purchase amounts and corresponding VAT for each supplier
  5. Generate the report – Use BIR-compliant software or the BIR's downloadable program to format the data
  6. Submit electronically – File via the BIR's eFPS portal or submit manually to your Revenue District Office (RDO)

  • Corporations and partnerships
  • Sole proprietors registered for VAT
  • Real estate brokers and developers with VAT-registered operations
  • Any business entity exceeding the purchase threshold

Filing Deadline

The Summary List of VAT Purchases must be submitted not later than the 25th day after the end of each taxable quarter. For eFPS filers, submission is due by the last day of the month following the quarter-end.
